I'd have got my injuries checked out if I thought they were more severe (e.g. if pressing on my bruised ribs had caused severe pain), or they had not started getting better on their own. As it is, everything apart from my bruised ribs is mostly recovered by now; and the bruised ribs (actually three separate sources of pain, two of which are recovering faster than the third) are giving me a fraction of the pain they did after the accident.
